“Today concludes the lesson 13 of the book of Joshua focusing on “choose this day!” He emphasizes God’s gift of choice to humanity and the importance of choosing obedience and serving God with an undivided heart and informed mind. Israel recognizes God’s supremacy and agrees to his covenant, acknowledging Him as their sovereign Lord who fulfilled his promises. While Israel initially pledges to serve God, Joshua expresses, concerns, knowing their past failures. Humans cannot serve God in their own strength, but only through his power, and that serving God is a serious decision. Inclining one’s heart to God is a conscious decision to bend and listen to His voice, moving away from sinful tendencies. The lesson concludes by reflecting on Joshua’s death at 110 years old and his legacy as a courageous and uncompromising leader who led Israel to serve God,emphasizing the urgency for Christians to be strong and courageous in these end times. The memory text is Joshua 24;15 “Choose This Day!”
