Sabbath Bulletin - May 2, 2026: Shadow or Substance

By Maui Kahului Seventh Day Adventist Church

Thank you for joining us this Sabbath! We extend a heartfelt "Aloha & Happy Sabbath," to all our members, visitors, & guests. We are thrilled to have you with us today this Sabbath.

So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.
Colossians 2:16-17 NKJV

Thought of the Day

Long before Abraham, before Israel, and before the ceremonial laws, God established the Sabbath at Creation as a gift for humanity. Later, after sin entered the world, ceremonial festivals were added to point forward to Christ and His saving work. In Leviticus 23 the Bible distinguishes between those festival sabbaths and the “Sabbaths of the Lord.” Today, the Sabbath still reminds us that God is our Creator and Redeemer, inviting us each week to rest in His grace and celebrate the salvation found in Jesus.
